About Me
“I am not, in my natural state, nearly so much of a person as I like to believe: most of what I call ‘me’ can be very easily explained. It is when I turn to Christ, when I give myself up to His Personality, that I first begin to have a real personality of my own” (C.S. Lewis “Mere Christianity”). This is me; a 20 year old girl from Colorado, trying to follow a God that is more amazing and more powerful than I could ever even begin to imagine.
I was a music major at Colorado Christian University and for a year and a half, my life was devoted to my music and my education. However, being a God of unpredictablilty, I felt Him pulling me in a different direction so I took this semester off to figure out what that direction was. Well here I am persuing my dreams and embarking in the most incredible journey of my life! I have had a heart for missions and the children affected by the war and poverty of Africa ever since I saw Inviisible Children about five years ago. It has been among my greatest desires to dedicate my life to show these children what love and hope is, and when God revealed his plans for me to go on this adventure, I was ecstatic, to say the least to follow Him blindly.
To describe a little bit about me . . . well . . . I guess you could probably already guess that I LOVE music: playing it, singing it, listening to it. Music is a way for me to express and better understand my deepest feelings and emotions. Other than music, I am obsessed with sunflowers; I cannot function without caffeine; I love to be outside; I love the mountains; I am very active, I like to run, snowboard, hike, wakeboard, any outside sport really; I am a nanny for the most adorable 2 1/2 year old twins ever; I have the world’s cutest dog; and I like to be silly, very silly, it makes life fun. Most importantly, I believe that love is greater than all things and 1 John says “God is Love”. Christ is the ultimate example of love and so I follow Him and try my hardest to be like Him and to love Him. I live my life around 1 John 3:18, which says “My children, our love cannot be just words and talk, but true love which shows itself in action”.
I can’t express how excited I am for this trip, to be able to follow God with no boundaries and spread His love and His grace to those who have never experienced it. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me.

Tara! Im really looking forward to meeting you and going on this great adventure!
Hey Tara,
So I just discovered invisible Children this past semester and had the same reaction. That is why I would love to go to Uganda (after God called me to go on this trip and then a lot of prayer about the desitination). I’ve worked the past three summers in Colorado as well- at a Christian guest ranch called Wind River, just outside of estes park on highway 7 (which is where I am right now!) My blog isn’t up yet because I just recently got added to the trip, but I look forward to seeing you in a little over a week in Atlanta! God bless
That is really awesome! Estes Park is beautiful. I am so glad that I will have someone like you who shares Christ’s love for the Invisible Children. I pray everyday with all my heart that He will let me go to Uganda, hopefully we will be teamates there together. So what does your schedule look like in the summer? How much longer will you be in Estes? Cause I like mountains and when I have an excuse to go up in them especially to meet a potential teamate I take every chance that I can get! I can’t wait to meet you! What flight are you taking to Georgia, wouldn’t that be cool if we were on the same flight? 😉 I suppose with God anything is possible.
